SanDisk has unveiled a new 200 GB solid-state card that could pave the way for bigger hard drives in netbook, laptops, and tablets. The microSD card is just about the size of a fingernail, packing a hefty storage capacity rivaling solid state internal drives at just a fraction of the size.

The manufacturer is aiming the device at Android phones, where they could provide a gigantic amount of storage for music, videos, photos, and apps. As The Verge points out, though, the major manufacturers of Android phones – like Samsung – are phasing out the additional storage options, though HTC still has them. They're also slower than some standard micro SD cards, at least for now. SanDisk's cards will retail for $400 to start.
