Cars are cool. Motorcycles are cool. But up until now, Batman was the only one who really converged the two. Recently, though, Fast Company's Mark Wilson got to tell Cadillac what to do for a day. He asked them to design a car that converts into not one, but two motorcycles. They passed. So he went to argodesign instead.

Former NASA designer Chipp Walters designed the car / motorcycle and tackled the mechanical problems inherent in building a car that divides in two. For example, how to build a steering mechanism that can work in two parts or just one, and how to make the whole thing structurally sound as a car or two bikes.

Walters came up with a concept and sketched it. Sadly, though, the car that becomes two motorcycles (aka the Lane Splitter) is unlikely to come to life, even with rear wheel power making it more feasible. Come on, Cadillac. Have some fun and build this thing.
