Now that floppy disk drives have faded into retirement, they're getting a second lease on life making music. A search on YouTube shows how musically inclined these drives can be—with a little help from their human overlords.

In this video, 49 floppy drives were connected to a keyboard to produce what passes as a song. A German non-profit organization named Toolbox Bodensee created the contraption. Through the use of a loose translation on its YouTube page, the group explains that the disks are powered by an Arduino board that "converts the signals of the keyboard into an analog signal," which results in an audible song.
